Peter Rabbit

Family Fun Series: Peter Rabbit Tales
Produced by Enchantment Theatre Company
Sunday, November 20 at 3 p.m.

In celebration of Beatrix Potter’s 150th birthday anniversary, Enchantment Theatre Company, in collaboration with the Estate of Beatrix Potter and Penguin Books UK, brings her captivating stories to life. Using fantastic masks, whimsical puppets, gorgeous scenery and original music, the magical, marvelous world of Beatrix Potter comes alive on stage.

Meet Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny, Beatrix Potter’s beloved characters, as they escape from Mr. McGregor, outfox Mr. Tod and rescue the Flopsy Bunnies from the disagreeable badger, Tommy Brock.

When Benjamin’s children disappear, he goes to his cousin, Peter Rabbit, to help him find the bunnies. But Peter thinks he’s had quite enough of adventure, remembering his youthful escapades in Mr. McGregor’s garden. As the cousins reminisce about their past adventures, their friends - Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, Jemima Puddle-duck and Thomasina Tittlemouse - gather to encourage Peter on this one last quest.

Childsplay’s smash-hit musical about the presidents of the United States is back by popular demand! Just in time for the 2017 Inauguration, Rock the Presidents is a high octane, multi-media-filled, musical revue spanning 223 years of the American presidency – from George Washington to Barack Obama. The 44 people who rose to the highest office in the land are brought to life through rock, pop and folk music as we take a non-partisan look at what it means to be president.

Curricular Connections Guide

The Curricular Connections Guide is a new initiative at the Quick Center for the Arts this school year. Designed to serve as a resource for Fairfield University faculty and staff, the Guide is created to foster connections between Fairfield classes and Quick Center performances. Included are particular events we feel are of direct relevance to courses being offered on campus. However we believe that our wide array of programming enhances every student and faculty member’s experience on our campus by bringing diverse perspectives and voices that enrich our lives through more well-rounded experiences.

How can you use the CCG to enhance your students’ experiences?

  • Encourage your students to attend an arts event and provide extra credit for attendance
  • Encourage students to do reflective writing about their experience with the performance and how it connects to their learning in the classroom
  • Utilize the performance as a resource to enhance your course instruction
  • Schedule an in-class discussion or lecture led by a visiting artist or a FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY faculty or staff member

The Guide lists arts events in chronological order; the entry for each event includes time, location, and ticket information, event description, and curricular connections. It is the intent of the Quick Center for the Arts in developing the Curricular Connections Guide to engage Fairfield University faculty in our programs by forming meaningful, logical links between the substance of academic courses and the content of Quick Center events.

For more information on the Quick Center Curricular Connections Guide or engagement opportunities, contact Lori Jones at (203) 254-4000 ext. 2975 or ljones@fairfield.edu.
