Pianist Orin Grossman has long been fascinated by musical borderlands: places where popular culture and so-called high culture connect. In this solo recital, he travels the Americas to present music from Brazil, Cuba, and the United States. Among the featured composers are Ernesto Lecuona (who was called “the Cuban Gershwin”), Ernesto Nazareth, an early pioneer of Brazilian music, Scott Joplin, and George Gershwin.
