With 10 Grammys, 36 recordings, and a musical career that spans over 50 years as a pianist, bandleader, and composer of salsa and Latin jazz, Eddie Palmieri’s contribution to Latin music is unparalleled. First making history by winning the inaugural Grammy award for Best Latin Recording in 1975, Mr. Palmieri has made an incredible mark in the world of jazz music and was honored in 2013 with both the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Latin Grammys and the NEA Jazz Masters Award, the nation’s highest honor in jazz, recognizing him as a true American Musical icon.
