As one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors, fresh from his powerful Broadway stage performance in Arthur Miller’s drama The Price, Mark Ruffalo opens our season with a passionate point of view about climate change and environmental policies. He was honored with the Global Green Millennium Award for Environmental Leadership and the Meera Gandhi Giving Back Foundation Award. Beloved by trans-generational audiences, he is known for his roles appearing as ‘The Incredible Hulk’ in The Avengers and as Boston Globe reporter Michael Rezendes in the Oscar winning film, Spotlight.
When not engaged in his acting career, Ruffalo devotes his energies to resisting deniers of climate change and lending his voice as an advocate for renewable energy sources. He is co-founder of Water Defense – a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about energy extraction and the impact of fracking on water supplies and public health. In ‘Walking the walk’, he presented Standing Rock Sioux tribal leaders with mobile solar panels to bring power to the encampment where Native Americans and other social activists were protesting last year in North Dakota.
Join us for an evening of warmth and passion and unscripted candor as this Hollywood star speaks truth to power.
