Dr. Petter Törnberg is an Assistant Professor in Computational Social Science at the University of Amsterdam, a senior researcher at the University of Neuchatel, and an Associate Professor in Complex Systems at Chalmers University of Technology. His research focuses on how digital technology is reshaping our politics, media, and cities. Dr. Törnberg utilizes computational methods and digital data to critically examine the consequences of datafication, platformization, and AI. His most recent book, Intimate Communities of Hate: Why Social Media Fuels Far-Right Extremism, adds on to his growing collection of published works, with over 50 peer-reviewed articles and chapters in journals such as PNAS, New Media & Society, and Big Data & Society.
