This year, the Glee Club’s annual Pops concert features songs from the great British artists from the 1960s through today, performed by the Glee Club, outstanding soloists, duets, and small groups, and accompanied by the Pops Band.
Michael A. Ciavaglia ’04, D.M.A., conductor
Bio: Dr. Ciavaglia is active in the fields of opera, choral performance, and higher education. In addition to his role at Fairfield, he has been a part of the music staffs of On Site Opera in New York City, Asheville Lyric Opera, Cincinnati Opera, and the New York Choral Society. Dr. Ciavaglia has regularly prepared choruses for the Richard Tucker Music Foundation Gala and performances with superstar tenor Andrea Bocelli. He also serves as the artistic director of the Connecticut Chamber Choir, and has taught and conducted at Mars Hill University and at Northern Kentucky University. Currently, he is the director of choral music at Fairfield University, and is the director of the Fairfield University Glee Club and Chamber Singers.
