David W. Blight, PhD, Yale University is a Sterling Professor of History and Director of the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University. He is the author and editor of a dozen books, including Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom, and has received the Pulitzer Prize, the Bancroft Prize, and the Abraham Lincoln Prize, among others, for his work in relation to Douglass. Presented by the Fairfield University History Department.
